Children would really love to create a bird feeder. Here you can see the different ways to make your own bird feeder from building the materials you have gathered; later, you can hang the bird feeder at the windows so you can have fun watching the birds during feeding time.
1. In making a bird feeder, gather all necessary materials. Materials would include big pinecone, birdseeds, creamy peanut butter, orange peel, paintbrush, acrylic paint, pastry brush, plastic dish, and a string.
2. Choose where you would like to hang the bird feeders you made. If you want to watch the birds closely, you can put the huge built bird feeder into your window. You need to see to it that it is six feet away so that the cat or the squirrel would not jump it and eat the bird seeds you have prepared; not only that you can keep the cat away from getting the birds perching on the feeder, and the squirrel getting the food from it.
3. Always place feeder hooks and hangers on the place you want to hang your bird feeders so that after you construct one, you have no problems on how and where to hang it.
4. Make a bird feeder with the use of pinecone. Select a big open pinecone and attach as string close to the stem’s end so that the pinecone would be facing down straight. Use a pastry brush, apply the creamy peanut butter in pinecone. Don’t forget to brush the gaps. Take hold of handful of birdseeds and gently dust it onto the pinecone. Spin the pinecone as you sprinkle the birdseed so that it turns out to be entirely covered with seeds.
5. Make a bird feeder with an orange peel. Peel your orange in a circular motion and in long string. Attach a string on its end. Smear the creamy peanut butter over the orange peel and plunge the strand in the dish of birdseeds or grains until it is entirely covered.
6. Paint the wood bird feeder using various colors. Buy a bird feeder project or plans from the crafts store. Paint the bird feeder with acrylic colors, and dry it the whole night.
7. Hang up the bird feeders into your window. Now, take time to watch and look closely at the backyard birds that enjoy the meals you have for them.
